Hi. Need to let you know upfront that I’m currently reading  “The Cure for Burnout” by Emily Ballesteros and it’s so so good that I won’t be able to shut up about it for weeks. This is to your benefit 😘

Genuinely life-changing framework

From the abovementioned book, consider these 5 Pillars of Burnout Management👇

  1. Mindset: Do you have a high-achieving mindset? People-pleasing? Self-victimization? All three lead to burnout.
  2. Time management: How good are you at prioritizing, organizing, planning? Makes a huge difference in your everyday work experience.
  3. Stress management: “What can you get lost in?” is something my doctor recently asked me, as a way of identifying true de-stressors. Think about it!
  4. Boundaries: There’s a limit to what you can reasonably accomplish—to the resources you have to offer. Those are your boundaries. Are you honoring them?
  5. Personal care: AKA self care, but beyond bubble baths. How are you balancing rest, maintenance, and fun? All three are necessary.

Thoughts?

I’ve heard Ballesteros say in interviews that most people, upon just hearing this list, know pretty immediately where they need to focus.

I’m everything except number 2 😬 Working on it! You?

Speaking of managing time...

For your non-meeting time (of which I pray you have some), do you time-block?

Try it. I can vouch: You’ll get more done and feel a lot less scatterbrained in the process.

Here’s a helpful primer.

Mantra for the week

✨Impact over activity✨

Gif of two corgis racing to jump over hurdles, but one corgi just calmly walks under the hurdles instead of running and jumping like the other

Your job is to drive results, not look busy. What’s something you could give 70% effort to this week and still have mostly the same impact?

Do that 🤗

Have a good one!
